AI for Hiring & Recruiting

Resume screening, candidate matching, interview questions, and bias mitigation — use AI to hire better without dehumanizing the process.

AI can read 500 resumes in 30 seconds. It can't tell you if someone will thrive on your team. Use it to find candidates, not to filter them out.

What you'll learn

Resume screening: tools like Ideal, HireVue, and Textio use AI to extract skills, experience, and education from resumes and match them to your job description. Save hours per role — but always review the 'rejected' pile for non-obvious fits.

Candidate matching: AI can score candidates against your best-performing employees' profiles. Use it to surface candidates whose background pattern matches success in your company, not to disqualify those who don't fit a narrow mold.

Interview question generation: give AI the job description and candidate's resume. Ask for 5 behavioral questions that probe the gap between 'claimed experience' and 'can they do it in your context.' Also ask for 3 questions to assess cultural contribution (not just 'fit').

Bias mitigation: AI inherits bias from training data. Audit your AI hiring tools for demographic bias — if the tool disproportionately filters out certain groups, adjust prompts or switch vendors. Never use AI as the sole decision-maker in hiring. Always have a human make the final call.
